I’m having a deep cleaning done on Monday and they have to take off my braces to do it. Will they put the braces back on right after my cleaning is done on that same day?
They don’t remove the braces. I have had two cleanings now with braces, and they get the plaque and tartar free, help you floss your teeth a lot of times, and then they spray a pumice (a grainy type of spray that will help clean your teeth) around your teeth, and that’s about it. Your braces stay on, but the method is very effective, but definitely feels funny when it’s happening. They do the exact same process when you have your braces on and when you have them off. So, they don’t take them off when you get a cleaning. That would take so much time and would be useless since you get the same cleaning pretty much even if you’re wearing braces. They clean in your teeth, and floss after wards. Are you sure they have to remove the braces? That would mean they have to remove the little bit of glue that is on each tooth and then replace the braces with new glue, etc. Very costly for a cleaning. I have had to have that done when I had my braces.
